Loan
Agreements
Rebecca
wrote to us with the following query:
I
was wondering how I could find out information on Loan Agreements,
as I am in the process of loaning a horse and would like
to find out about how to put together an agreement. I would
also like to know what I should include in this agreement.
Judy
Knight from The Loan Arranger gives her reply.
Dear
Rebecca,
(The
Loan Arranger can provide a draft contract for £20.00. It
covers the basics plus a few things that people tend to
forget, and can be amended to suit almost every purpose.
Some
important points to remember when writing your own agreement
are who pays for vaccinations, insurance, saddlery & rug
repairs/replacements, worming and shoeing? Who pays for
vet fees not covered by insurance?
How
long will the loan last and what happens if either the owner
or borrower want to end the loan early? And if that happens
who pays for transport? There are many others!
I believe
that the British Horse Society has a contract that can be
downloaded form their website. I have not seen it but I
understand that it is free!
Hope
this helps
Judy
